Beautiful graphics and fun spin of two genres

Finally a hidden objects game that isnt dark with a simulation spin to it. Please make more games like this!!! There arent enough simulation games out there for adults. Keep it up!!!

awesome game

really helps the attention span

Avoid

This sequel fails to live up to the original in every way. The graphics for the garden are unappealing to the point that I hated adding most new features, because they detracted rather than decorated. The album pictures are so ugly that its hard to get excited about finding a new one. The dog has been made goofy looking, and Austins mother is garish beyond belief: bright yellow, bright green, and bright fuchsia all in the same outfit. Only a color-blind man or a child still young enough to like gaudy, mismatched colors would put together that outfit. If those are the kinds of colors Austins mother likes to wear, Im not surprised that all the options for her garden are ugly and clash. A huge part of the appeal of the original Gardenscapes was making the run-down garden beautiful, but that sure wont be happening here. If you put in benches, lawns, a flower ring, a kennel, a fence, bushes, and maybe the fountain and lawn furniture, and then you simply stop, it wont look so bad, but not looking too bad is a far cry from making it beautiful, and stopping also means not finishing the game. Whoever is responsible for graphic design at Playrix needs to learn that more and more elaborate, posh decorations for barns and backyards simply translates to outlandish, not outstanding. Who puts a pool table in his backyard? Why wasnt it a tennis court or something that you would actually have outside? I cant help thinking that Playrix must either have new artists or their old artists used up all their good ideas on the first Gardenscapes game, because this sequel just looks clunky and overblown, and maybe Playrix took the praise for the first Gardenscapess bright cheerful colors too much to heart, because the palette here could make a player nostalgic for monochrome graphics. In the first game, adding new stone pathways to the garden was the turning point when the garden went from eyesore to pretty; in the sequel, I prefer the worn grey stone of the old pathways to any of the new ones, but I cant keep the old ones and finish the game. If you insist on designing your game to appeal to the aesthetics of four year olds, dont be surprised if no one else wants to play it. The new hint features - the thermometer and looking glass - are so badly implemented that they shouldnt have been; they are no real help. The program lags so badly that taps often dont register, and this is in timed puzzles. Thanks to the lag, I keep unintentionally triggering hints when Im zooming or moving the screen, and if its lagging because my device is inadequate, then there were no adequate devices available when this game was released, so why was it? A game that is this finicky about registering taps has no business penalizing the user for random tapping, especially when those coins often are entirely hidden behind other objects, names are often misleading or ambiguous, and objects sometimes dont look anything like what theyre supposed to be. The scene tells me to find a ball, but the tennis ball isnt being picked up. Is that because the game wants a beach ball this time or because its not registering my taps? Either could be the case. Theres nothing more annoying in a hidden object game than to tap repeatedly on an object for ten seconds, get penalized for tapping too much in the wrong place, finally decide it must be the wrong object, use a hint to reveal the correct object, and find that its the one you were tapping on all along. The new ability to zoom in hidden object scenes would be a lot more helpful if it could zoom in to a larger magnification and if the zoom hadnt been offset by such dark pictures and ludicrously tiny objects almost entirely hidden behind other objects. Hidden object games rely far too much on making objects hard to see rather than hard to spot, simply because thats easier and cheaper for the game designers, but straining our eyesight is no substitute for quality gameplay. Turn on the blasted lights. So the hidden object scenes just arent much fun, and "decorating" the garden isnt much fun, making this game sorely lacking in fun or appeal. Add to that the hanky-panky that Playrix engages in with their pricing structure, and that adds up to a hidden object game that says search elsewhere for something to play.

Lots of fun...

As usual! Love it.

Not worth the price

I dont think the price is justified here... The design of the game is beautiful, but without a real storyline it gets boring very quickly as you just go through the same rooms over and over again. And despite the steep price, you still get in-app ads! Completely ridiculous. It was fun at the beginning, but I was very quickly disappointed as the game fails to bring novelty after a (very short) while.

Fun but too expensive

Its a good game but no way worth that much

Awesome

Love this game! Thanks

Feel good entertainment

Playing this game makes the world seem nicer!

Awesome!

This game is addictive! Love it!

Most enjoyable

I really enjoy this game!

Good, but small bother

Own the first two Gardenscapes on Mac. Love this series. The only small bother is the moving characters are black. Otherwise I so far really like it.

Gardenscape 2 a bit glitchy

A nice game overall. There is, however, a glitch with the characters where you only see black forms with edges of clothing instead of the features of the characters.

Gardens capes 2

More fun than Gardenscapes!

Hidden object

Just finished a scene and I spent about 15 minutes trying to find a rose. Finally used a hint and discovered the rose was totally covered by the top right tab that has menu and coin amounts on it. Please be sure that the items arent impossible to find because they are covered.

Great Game

Loved gardenscapes, thrilled to have a next version!

Great waste of time

Kind of expensive at 6.99, but worth it!

Love playing this game

It is fun creating your own garden. Looking for items in the rooms and getting the money for them to buy for your garden is exciting. Please get more items to buy. I am hooked. Thank you its a great stress reliever. Laurie from Ontario

Gardenscapes 2

I love a game that exercises my brain, and the enjoyment of building a garden. Thank you!

Great fun, but...

I was enjoying this game until it crashed, and I had to reload it. This put me back at the beginning again, which was disappointing. First time Ive had this happen with a Playrix game.

Garden

Great fun. Something even I can do.
